What RERA means when you buy in Karnataka

Summary
In Karnataka, a RERA number is the door to the promoter's public project file. It is not a badge printed on a brochure.
RERA is the state register for real estate projects. In Karnataka the public site is rera.karnataka.gov.in. A registered project has a number, usually beginning PRM/KA/RERA, and a file that the promoter is expected to keep current.
That file is where possession dates, approved plans and recorded delays live. It is more useful than a second status line on a listing, because the authority's page is the one the promoter has to answer for.
The Karnataka portal opens a project through its own internal id. Pasting the registration number into the address bar does not load the file. Use the portal's project search, or the direct project link when the listing has one. On URSQUARE, the RERA number on a project opens that search, and a saved project link opens the file itself.
Questions
What does a Karnataka RERA number actually give you?
A way into the promoter's public project file: the registered name, the approved plans, the possession window, and any delay the promoter has recorded.
Why does pasting the RERA number into the browser fail?
The Karnataka portal opens a project through its own internal id. Search for the registration number on the portal, or use the direct project link when a listing has saved one.
Read the possession date on the RERA page next to whatever the sales desk quotes. If they differ, ask which date the agreement will use.
